The time should be longer. Maybe an hour or two. The cost of these instruments dictates that you really need to know if it is going to work for you. The time would allow the user to create something that would make them need the plug in to finish it. |

Despite the fact that the product really delivers and is among the top IMO in terms of chamber instruments. u should improve a little bit the quality of your online testing samples. Not in terms of sampling quality, which is very good but in terms of latency and matching the speed with users; All in all nice experience, Ive already orderd the entire chamber package from www.soundsonline.com ...they dont have it in stock but waiting is a good way to value what you later own:)) Congratulation |

Despite the lag (which wasnt that terrible considering the whole technical feat of this operation of yours... although it was enough to keep me from playing smoothly), I was able to get a sense of the sound and touch of the Ivory Grand pianos. Ich denke das dies eine sehr gute Idee ist und die Möglichkeiten der VIs sehr gut angetestet weren können. Es verbraucht keinen Festplattenplatz und erzeugt damit keinen unnötigen und meist schwierig zu entfernenden Datenmüll. I was very curious about the timbre of the different pianos. This provided a great way to explore that part of the sound. It was well worth it to me to have this opportunity. Bravo! This was my first experience with Try Sound. The latency is not a problem for me. Its like playing a pipe organ in a big church. I can deal with it. I also much prefer this method because I can try it on my usual sound system so I have a better idea of how it will sound in my regular environment. Being able to have the regular interface onscreen and to be able try various patches is fantastic. To be able to do it in the privacy (and quiet) of my own home/studio rather than in some noisy music store is brilliant. I will definitely use your service again. It has helped me decide for sure that I want to purchase the library that I tested - which is overall very good except for the choirs (but I knew that anyway). I already know what other items I would like to try. I have only one major complaint... and if it was there I apologize for not seeing it: I would like to see somewhere a timer that I could reference so I would know how much time I have left. I know that I could look at the computer clock, my watch, etc. - but I would prefer something official from you. Not just the pop-up when you had one minute left. Otherwise, as I said, very good. This has just been a great first experience! My system and connection are not the best for this kind of online work, but the basic features showed to be possible. This is a fantastic new technology I sweared to my friends would be the future - and here it is! I really believe that buying software as we do nowadays will be a rarity for isolated places; the mainstream will access online servers through fast connections that will provide all desired software for a casual or timed fare. Fantastic idea, but I wish it was possible to play the instruments in real time. I appreciate that this would be impossible using current internet connection technology due to the inherent latency, but it would make the whole experience so much more worthwhile. Having said that, to be able to try before you buy, without spending time downloading and installing huge demos, is a very good thing and I am generally impressed with the idea. I hope that more VST manufacturers will catch on in future. |

I think that try-sound is the best way to review or try a new, never-used-before software, but I wish the time limit would be a bit longer, because I wanted to check some instruments and effects to see how good/usefull they are, but did not have time. Overall, its still easier than downloading a huge demo software and installing it, but then again some would preffer it just for the longer time to try it reason. I know it is not easy to increase the time limit on the server, but it would help a lot. I would like to also see if you can get some deals to demo some PLAY instruments from eastwest or somewhere else. Thank you very much. |

I really think its a great site, and I loved the idea behind it. I was a little disappointed with the overall latency issues, because it didnt really give me a chance to totally take the software for a test drive, but I will say that after hearing the sounds, regardless of the latency, I would definitely buy the software, and I guess thats the bottom line, right?! I completely understand all the technical issues behind getting something like this to work properly, so I am in no way complaining because I think its brilliant...I just cant wait until it works even better. The idea itself is ingenious and I have waited quite some time to see such a project appear on the internet. Since most VSTi producers do not offer downloadable demos online (understandable considering the vast size of many of them!) it is the only way we can experience expensive vst products before committing to buy It all worked surprisingly well, and I was impressed from start to finish. Unfortunately, the latency is a big issue and 3/4 of the time I was experiencing quite severe dropouts and stuttering which may have been [artially due to my 4mbps net connection but was still a little too much. If the latency can be fixed so it works better, then this is perhaps the most invaluable and brilliant composers resource on the internet :) Very well done! |

Im quite impressed about this application and Id like to try even more sample libraries this way (provided I upgrade my internet connection). I think that the best way to audition samples is by visiting a dealer (but in some countries this is still only partially possible) followed by online playing. Downloading a demo version is not suitable (at least for me) because of long download times and listening audio demos over the internet may be deceiving in terms of sound quality (although quite informative about technicalities). |

I was quite impressed with what I was able to try out. My goal was to evaluate all the WIVI woodwind instruments. I already own WIVI Brass, so I already know how to use the product. This was my first time. It went very well, esecially cosidering Im on holiday, staying at a small cottage on a mountain surrounded by bush and using a small USB wireless modem conected to the 3G/UMTS telephone system! Ive never heard of this system of trying software before. With regards to future methods, Try-Sound is an absolutely brilliant way of trialing software that would otherwise be unavailable to the average browsing composer or student. If there would be any way of making the latency a little faster (even to 50 or even 30ms) woudl make a greater difference. Nevertheless, on the back of using your software I am seriously considering purchasing Symphobia as a result. |

I was really glad to have found this site! I already have access to EWQL symphonic orchestra silver -- but the demos and promotional info for symphobia made me feel like I was missing something. Trying this on try-sound let me know exactly what I needed. Symphobia didnt offer me much that I didnt already have. I am very pleased with this service. It is excellent! Now it is possible to test each sound before you buy. This helps out immensely when trying to decide which sound library will work best for you! I very much appreciate the possibility to try out a vst befor I buy it. The audio quality of the demo is excellent. For people interested in loops this setup is probably fine. For me however the midi-audio latency makes it impossible to play something like Galaxy pianos or to play a drum set life. A plus is also the possiblity to try the user interface of the software. While there was obvious latency there this was not a problem. |

I just had to try this because I was thrilled by the fact you offer this service! Its just incredible and a very good way to get a good first impression of a product. It is actually cool that you can really tweak every knob and find your own way through the libraries. I´ll maybe need some orchestra samples next year and the chamber orchestra samples felt quite good. (sehe gerade, dass ich auch deutsch schreiben darf) Es ist klasse, weil man trotz der Latenz auch das Spielgefühl erahnen kann! Werde auf jeden Fall auf dieses Angebot zurückkommen, wenn ich nach neuen Sounds suche. Toll und unkompliziert! Auch die fertigen Midis sind praktisch (gerade bei Drums, die man mit großer Latenz kaum spielen kann). Weiter so, unglaublich! |

There is great potential in this way of testing software. If support could be added for the ASIO4all driver, it would make for an even more comfortable test bed. I experienced a little audio dropout here and there, but I suppose this was due to the program utilizing wavemapper instead of the much lower latency ASIO4all driver Ive come to adore. This already pretty mcuh revolutionary, since you dont have to install anything. Latency is very acceptable, and sound quality is pretty much enough to get the idea of what youre gonna get if youre copping the sofware. Plus (and thats a big plus), its really easy to get a session (takes an average waiting time of 10 minutes to get started!) and you can use it several times without limitations (which is pretty handy to really get the whole picture of the instruments). The only thing I would like to see so far is more plugins available, such as East West (SO, Gypsy, Storm Drums2), VSL, Spectrasonics. That would be awesome to try this way all those. Thanks very much for allowing us to use such a wonderful service! |

I think Try-Sound is an excellent idea. I have always wondered if there was a way to test VSTs online, and when I went to ProjectSAMs website, Thats where I found out. Whatever you do, do NOT give up on this. Im sure youve gotten e-mails about how bad the latency is, but what they dont know is, its not Try-Sounds fault, itss most likely the users computer specs and connection speed. Try-Sound can only go forward, and thats when the revolution starts. |

I think that this idea of Try-Sound is a very great idea. Aside from the latency issues, I think it is a great idea, because it lets you get a hands on feel of the VSTi, as well as being able to hear various sounds on file in raw form rather than enhanced demos, which honestly, have led me to buy a VST or two that I wish I didnt buy. The problem with downloading limited demos is that it takes up space on your PC, takes time to load, and may not be worth the loading time afterwards. Plus, with buzzes or other limitations on a demo, it still does not allow you to get the full feel of the VSTi. Great idea indeed! Its about time someone makes this happen. |
